KNUST E-Learning International Conference: A Gathering of Global Experts

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) E-Learning Centre is set to host its anticipated E-Learning International Conference on July 11 and 12, 2024.

The conference, which will take place at the university's Great Hall, promises to be a noteworthy event for educators, policymakers, and industry leaders from around the world. The day's proceedings will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until 5:00 PM.

The conference will feature a keynote presentation by Avi Warshavski, Founder and CEO of MindCET EdTech Innovation Center, and a member of the Board of Directors of The Center for Educational Technology in Israel.

Warshavski's presentation, titled "Educating AI: Unleashing the AI Potential to Create a Change in Education," is expected to provide insights into how artificial intelligence can be harnessed to transform educational practices.

Warshavski will delve into the potential of AI in enhancing learning experiences, personalizing education, and improving educational outcomes. Following Warshavski's keynote, a panel discussion on the "Global Outlook for Online Learning" will take place.

This discussion will feature notable experts, including Mr. Adeniyi Emmanuel, Regional Engagement Lead for Africa at the Association of Commonwealth Universities; Mr. Edmund Alangdong, Head of Policy at the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission; and

Prof. Fredrick Ato Armah, Director of Research and Programmes at the Association of African Universities. The panel will be chaired by Prof. Ahmed Agyapong, who will guide the conversation as the panellists explore trends, challenges, and opportunities in the field of online learning. Parallel sessions with oral presentations will follow the panel discussion.

These sessions are designed to provide attendees with a closer look at specific areas of interest within the e-learning landscape.

In Room 1, the focus will be on Israeli Innovations, with Francesca Ofori-Ndinya serving as chair. From 1:00 PM to 2:40 PM, Avi Warshavski will present on "Exploring Educational Technologies from the Start-Up Nation." Warshavski will discuss various innovative educational technologies emerging from Israel, known for its robust start-up culture.

This session will offer a glimpse into how these technologies are shaping the future of education and what lessons other countries can learn from Israel's experience.
 

Room 2 will centre on Emerging Trends and Inclusivity in E-Learning, chaired by Prof. Anthony Andrews. This session will feature a guest presentation by Dr. Abena Asomaninwaa Antwi, Director of the Zoomlion Research and Innovation Unit in Ghana.

Dr. Antwi will address "Industry and Innovation: Focusing on the Use of E-Technologies and Digital Tools in Industry." Her presentation will highlight how e-technologies and digital tools are utilized within various industries to drive innovation and efficiency.

Dr. Antwi will provide examples of successful implementations and discuss the implications for future workforce development.

The conference will also offer networking opportunities, allowing attendees to connect with peers, share knowledge, and explore potential collaborations. The diverse speakers and topics ensure that there will be something of interest for everyone involved in the field of e-learning and educational technology.

The KNUST E-Learning International Conference is poised to be a momentous event, bringing together thought leaders and innovators to discuss the future of education in a digital world.
