The 2024 E-Learning Awareness Week and E-Learning International Conference at KNUST highlighted advancements in educational technology, collaboration, and capacity-building. The event, held from July 8 – 12, 2024, gathered distinguished speakers from global and national sectors, including ambassadors, educational innovators, and policymakers. Keynote speakers included Professor Colin Riordan, Secretary-General and Chief Executive, Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU); Shlomit Sufa, Ambassador of Israel; Shri Manish Gupta, Indian High Commissioner; and Hon. Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Education, Phil Baty, Chief Global Affairs Officer, Times Higher Education; Dr. Aras Bozkurt, Assoc. Professor of Distance Education, Anadolu University, Turkey; Avi Warshavski, Founder and CEO of MindCET EdTech Innovation Center, Israel; Major General Richard Addo Gyane [Commandant, Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), Ghana. Their presentations, alongside those of other international experts, covered topics in global partnerships, digital learning, and the future of e-learning.

The E-Learning Awareness Week, launched on July 8, included a seminar for senior high school students, a Microsoft 365 webinar, e-learning competitions, and sessions on branding and scholarship opportunities. Held on July 11-12, the conference drew 1,190 in-person participants and over 2,000 online participants including educators, policymakers, and industry leaders. A total of 69 abstracts were submitted to the conference, with 67 selected for oral and poster presentations, underscoring significant engagement from researchers and practitioners. The conference sessions provided insights into global educational trends, skills development in digital learning, and shared solutions to common educational challenges. A diverse exhibition of e-learning technologies featured organizations like Jackson Educational Complex, KAIPTC, and OneConnect, illustrating innovative solutions.

The closing ceremony honoured students, faculty, and administrators for their contributions to e-learning. The awards recognized achievements such as outstanding student engagement, innovative teaching, and exemplary administrative support. Sponsors, including Mastercard-Foundation, Agriconnect, OneConnect and CENDLOS, contributed resources like laptops and certificates to support the winners. Overall, the 2024 E-Learning Awareness Week and International Conference successfully fostered knowledge-sharing, international partnerships, and skill-building. KNUST’s commitment to digital education was affirmed, providing a robust platform to drive future advancements in e-learning within the region and beyond.

The E-Learning International Conference 2024 received an impressive total of 42 abstract submissions from scholars, industry professionals, and educators across the globe. The abstracts represented a diverse range of topics that reflect the dynamic and evolving nature of online education and digital learning technologies.
